Testing for EMT-I's

We have been notified that the National Registry of EMT's will possibly discontinue testing of EMT-Intermediates (85 & 99) December 31, 2009. After this point no new Intermediates at either level will be certified. We at DEMST will be bringing this before EMSAC in January of 2009 to help determine what direction North Dakota will be going on this issue.

Actions that may affect you now:

1. All testing of EMT-Intermediates will need to be completed by this date (12/31/2009)
2. This DOES NOT mean current EMT-Intermediates will lose certification. There is currently a plan being worked on make transitions go smoothly. More information on this will be posted in the future.
3. It has not been determined how long EMT-Intermediates will continue to be certified through the National Registry. They are currently working on this and will be making a statement in the near future. Once we receive this information it will immediately be relayed onto you.

If you have any questions or concerns please give us a call here at DEMST
